Abruptum (Evil of Marduk and It of Ophthalamia) basically play a form of 'free' black metal--very noisy, not conventionally musical--but brutally anchored by Its' thudding, heavy drumming.

Lots of reverb, improvised outbursts and wordless screaming/moaning make this a hard listen for even regular black metal fans, who may think it's just random noise.

But anyone who likes the more out-there moments of the Melvins, Painkiller, Fantomas or even Peter Brotzmann (German sax assasin) should be able to get into this.
